Al Jarreau
and beyond..

(AN)
Bruno Castellucci, Jeanfrançois Prins, Jasper Soffers, Bart de Nolf.

best rhythm section ever!
can it get any better?
„these guys are just killing!“
..“performing as a rhythm section for many many years with „Toots“ Thielemans and playing with Peter Herbolzheimers‘ Rhythm Combination and Brass with Artists like Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Alfred Biolek, Bob Minzer, Count Basie and countless others, this rhythms section is surely outstanding. What strikes me most is the flawless, wonderful communication on and off the bandstand with these cats. Besides the fact that Bruno Castellucci sounds like a „young lion“ – age 75! Together with the sweet voice of 3 1/2 octave range of Paul Brown „this is a musical performance“ that you should NOT miss!“

Bio Paul Brown - English Version
Born and raised in the USA, Paul Brown belongs to the most talented Soul singers of his generation.
Inspired by great Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, Paul began to develop a deep passion for real expressive black music and soon became serious about his own vocals. He plays electric bass, guitar and drums. In NYC he worked with, and recorded for artists like Roberta Flack, Frank McComb, Tracy Bonham, Lauryn Hill, Lalah Hathaway and many more.
Paul Brown is definitely an insider tip and his voice guarantees pure goose bumps to everyone!

Jazzclassics connect with other sounds in our own arrangements. We love to play, improvise and interact on stage as playful as possible. Therefore arrangements have to be „easy“ in a way but with some complex harmonies to give it the right amount of Salt & Pepper. Paul Brown, one of the best Voices in Jazz and Soul in Germany is the perfect add to our „instrumental quartet“ with many gigs in the past. Paul would never call himself a jazzmusician, but believe me, he kicks budd seriously. His 3 1/2 octave range voice which sounds so sweet and warm fits the music of Al Jarreau perfectly. We came to the wonderful conclusion to add at least some of Al’s favorites like „Mornin‘“ or „This Time“ into our repertoire and give it our own (latin)flavor. Going from there we love beautiful ballads like „Tenderly“ and the Music of Bobby Hebb („Sunny“) plus other timless (Soul)Jazz Hits – floating into our own compositions with the feeling and flow of big cities like NYC or Berlin.
